Democracy, the definition:

A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives, the word democracy comes from Greek, the word “demos” is translated to “people” and the word “Kratein” is to govern or control.

All Constitutional democracies have of course a constitution, In this is written the most basic rights a person is eligible for, when having achieved citizenship in that country, whether you were born into it, or has come to it later. A constitution can not be changed with ease. Often a change in the text of a constitution has to be confirmed and then reconfirmed after the next election, and then even has to be put up for a vote. This is the case for instance in the Constitutional Monarchy of Denmark, which is in all ways a constitutional democracy, as the King of Denmark only has symbolic power.
